Chris Brophy

Chris Brophy email

Chris is an award-winning chart-topping composer, record producer and remixer who has produced a string of hits across the world. He is a classically trained pianist and qualified sound engineer whose music has featured on 114 charts all over the world. Chris has hit number one five times; one of which was on the Billboard chart in America. He has also remixed a Grammy nominated single. Chris has worked at some of the world's finest studios and has also promoted records internationally, securing high chart positions and impressive record sales. Until 2007, he presented a weekly radio show which was syndicated to 76 radio stations globally attracting a monthly listening audience of 2.2 million people worldwide. He still works in radio and is a Studio Manager at 94.4FM Salford City Radio.

Mike Pevitt

Mike also works as a lecturer in mathematics at Bolton College, working with under-achieving learners aged 16 - 18 on the Government's Entry to Employment programme. He is the co-founder of Salford City Radio having first launched the award-winning Seedley and Langworthy FM almost ten years ago. Mike also co-founded the Creative Industries in Salford (CRIIS) and sits on the board promoting the creative talent on the streets of Salford from film making to music. His film exploits led him to come up with the idea of a Salford Film Festival in 2003 which is now in its 7th year. Mike has been involved in training and teaching for the last 15 years. Credited by the leader of Salford City council as one of the main drivers in bringing the BBC to Salford due to Mikes tireless work amongst the grassroots of music and film in the City of Salford.

Joe Barnwell

Joe has over 36 years experience as a DJ at all kinds of events worldwide. He has taught various aspects of media studies and music to a wide range of students that have been faced with disadvantages and vulnerabilities from mental health problems to severe learning and behaviour difficulties, and teenagers to vulnerable adults. Joe uses his range of teaching skills and the universal language of music to reach the groups with barriers to learning. Now an experienced broadcaster with Salford City Radio, he continues to give disadvantaged people the experience of broadcasting. A multi-skilled guy who works hard with enthusiasm no matter how big the challenge.

Carl Hobson

Carl Hobson email

Carl is a skilled musician who has performed in many popular bands. He plays guitar and keyboards and enjoys writing songs for his band Edge of the Blade. Carl has much experience and qualifications in a broad range of subjects such as performing arts. He was the sound engineer for Salford College for 2 years which is where he was responsible for all things technical from full college presentations, outside events and dance groups. Carl has been a Governor of Salford College and was also the President of Salford College Student Union for 2 years. He is a highly skilled and reliable individual who enjoys fresh challenges and is committed to making Music Industry Learning a success.
