I found the books interesting and learned many things I didn\'t know before. I found the books easy to read and understand and always looked forward to the next one. They went into a lot of detail without getting too confusing. All the information is clearly explained in an accessible way which made it much easier for me to learn and take in the information. Not only did the books provide information about the music industry but they gave examples of different situations and case studies which made it easier and more interesting to learn.
Your course helped me to discover what it will take to break into the music industry and what I need to do. You have given much advice on how to get started and where to make contacts etc. I wanted to do the course as I want to centre my future career around the music business and I like the fact it was online and could be completed in my own time. After completing the course I went on to do a placement at a Manchester PR company where I gained hands-on experience of working within the media/music industry. I am also studying music journalism. I believe having MIL on my CV helped get my application noticed and proved I had a real interest in the industry. I would recommend the course to anybody who isn\'t quite sure where to start their career in music as it\'s a perfect way to easily and flexibly learn about ALL aspects of the business and guide you honestly through starting off on your own.
After reading the books and doing the projects, I have a good idea what the music industry is like and I am more confident now at taking my desires forward in the industry. I managed to set myself a couple of hours a day to read each book and then another hour or two on the projects without going off and doing something else. I now have more knowledge of the recording/technical skills in recording a demo and how to get gigs for my band and will be producing a publicity pack very soon. I just feel completely and utterly ready to take my music up to the next level. MIL is an excellent service and what you\'re doing is very cool and highly recommended.
Although I was already involved in music, I felt this course had given me an edge for when I start my university course. Despite having a fair bit of knowledge, I feel that MIL has pushed my skills further and given me the preparation I will need ahead of uni so I can stand out. Also, whilst being out of work it gave me something productive / beneficial to focus my attention on. You was patient, the feedback was great and made me realise that music was the right career path for me.
Your books gave the necessary information to enhance my skills and qualities; it was a new learning curve. I wrote gospel tracks when I was younger and MIL helped me to review them plus it offered hope that I might possibly release them in an album. The knowledge gained offered hope that my dream will come true. It gave me something extra to do, expand my scope of interest and equipped me with detailed information about how things should be done. I even read the books more than once.
